Nurturing all abilities and stages

Want to learn piano, violin?  Be nurtured to reach your natural musical potential.

Lessons are tailored to each age and made age appropriate.  Younger children explore in with their lessons - music games, pitch through sound and singing, other instruments, puppets and storytelling. Older students once past the foundation stages, are able to learn what they love and be challenged with materials to bring the best out in their playing taking note always of their emotional wellbeing as part of the learning process.  I aim to make the student feel comfortable in the learning experience in both structure, following student's lead and prescribing what's necessary to assist appropriate development and music milestones.

Following the natural pace of the student allowing each person to go at their own pace with realistic practice guidelines encouraged. Lessons are tailored to suit the individual needs of the student.

Exams can be arranged at the studio, or through the AMEB Adelaide for those wanting a musical goal/achievement. Exams can be used as SACE point and are also a good motivator to keep on track with progress.  Exam syllabus is Piano For Leisure which explore all styles from modern, classical, jazz, blues to name a few.

Part of the journey of learning an instrument is going into lessons understanding that it takes time to be able to play an instrument well so starting with a realistic attitude is important.  Caz has seen many students from new beginners up to high levels achieving excellent outcomes in their examinations through adopting this attitude and parents also supporting what's done in lessons with the child at home. Whether learning for leisure or exams, practice and parental support is key.

Having an instrument to practice on is essential along with making time to practise where possible between lessons!

Trial Lessons - Before committing to a term, I recommend having a trial lesson with me to make sure student and teacher are a good fit as it may be a long journey together.

Growing Melodies provides quality instruments in a relaxed environment.

Lessons for leisure or examinations.
